Faith Check: Are You Living Anchored or Adrift?

We check our phones. We check our calendars. We even check the weather.
But when was the last time we checked in with our faith?

A Faith Check isn’t about guilt, it’s about realignment.
It’s about asking: Am I drifting with the current of life, or staying anchored in Christ?

2 Corinthians 13:5 (NIV)
“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.”

This verse reminds us that faith isn’t just a label, it’s a lifestyle. When life gets busy, we can slip into autopilot. The storms hit, or even worse, the days just blurred slowly, and we drift. Not because we don’t believe, but because we haven’t paused to anchor.


Hebrews 2:1 (NLT)
“So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.”

Ask yourself:

  • Am I spending more time scrolling or praying?
  • What am I trusting to give me peace today?
  • Is my reaction to stress rooted in fear or faith?


These aren’t condemnation questions, they’re clarity questions. They help us refocus on truth and redirect our steps.

Faith Check: Am I Plugged Into God or Just My Phone?


We check our phones more than we check our hearts.
We refresh our feeds, answer every buzz, and chase notifications like they’re urgent.
But when was the last time we refreshed our faith?

A Faith Check isn’t about guilt—it’s about awareness.
It’s a gentle pause to ask:
What’s filling my mind—and what’s feeding my soul?


Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
 

Stillness is hard in a world that values speed. But stillness is where we rediscover who we are and who He is.
You don’t have to earn peace.
You just have to make space for it.


Isaiah 30:15 (NIV)
“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength…”
 

God isn’t asking for more hustle.
He’s offering more presence.

Ask yourself:

  • Am I more attached to my device than my time with God?
     
  • When I’m overwhelmed, do I turn to scrolling or Scripture?
     
  • Have I created any intentional stillness in my week?
     

These aren’t shame questions—they’re soul reset questions.
They help us notice what’s competing with God's voice in our lives.

In today’s digital world, technology doesn’t have to be a distraction, it can be a doorway to devotion. E-books, Bible apps, and online devotionals allow us to carry God’s Word in our pocket, ready to refresh our spirit wherever we are. The key is choosing to pause the scroll and open the Scripture, letting truth guide our thoughts in the middle of a tech-heavy world.

Faith Check: Are you the answer to someone's prayers?

  

Who crossed your path today that could use a simple act of kindness—and how can you be the answer?

  

We rush through our days, focused on to-do lists, deadlines, and distractions.
But sometimes, the most important moment isn’t in the task—it’s in the pauseto love.
A smile. A kind word. A helping hand. A prayer whispered when no one is watching.
These aren’t extras. They’re Kingdom moments.

Kindness doesn’t require perfection—it just requires presence.
And more often than not, someone nearby is praying for hope…
and God is placing you right in their path to deliver it.

  

A Faith Check Isn’t About Guilt, It’s About Becoming Aware

It's a chance to ask ourselves:

Who crossed my path today that may have needed encouragement?

Did I make space to be compassionate, or was I too rushed?

Am I willing to be inconvenienced to care for someone else?

When I feel a tug to reach out, do I act—or brush it off?

God often nudges us in the still moments… but we have to be willing to feel them.
Let’s not miss divine opportunities disguised as ordinary interruptions.

Faith Check: Fresh Starts with God


A new week has begun. New schedules, new plans, new opportunities—and maybe even a little leftover discouragement from last week.

Sometimes we start strong, but other days we struggle. We wake up already behind, distracted in prayer, or unsure where to even begin with God.

Here’s the truth you need to hear today: you can start again.

No matter how off-track you feel in your prayer life or how long it’s been since you’ve opened your Bible, God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23).

Faith Check: Are You Running on Empty or Renewed in Christ?

We check our emails. We check our schedules. We even check our to-do lists multiple times a day.
But when was the last time we checked in with our soul?

A Faith Check is about realignment.
It’s about asking: Am I trying to do life on my own strength, or am I letting God restore and refresh me daily?

“He restores my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.”

This verse reminds us that true renewal doesn’t come from more hustle or checking off more boxes, it comes from time with God.

“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

When we pause and trust Him, He fills us up with strength and direction we can’t find anywhere else.

But when was the last time we checked our source of wisdom?

A Faith Check is about realignment.
It’s about asking: Am I making decisions based on my own understanding, or am I seeking God’s guidance first?

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

This verse reminds us that God’s wisdom is not hidden or reserved for a select few—it’s available to anyone who asks.

Faith Check:   

Are You Leaning on Christ’s Strength or Your Own?

We check our phones. We check our bank accounts. We even check the mirror before we walk out the door.
But when was the last time we checked where our strength is coming from?

A Faith Check is about alignment.
It’s about asking: Am I carrying life in my own strength, or am I depending on Christ to carry me?


Realignment in Scripture

Philippians 4:13 (NIV)
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Paul’s words remind us that Christ is the source of endurance, not us. The promise is not about never feeling weak—it’s about knowing where to run when we do.


Isaiah 40:29-31 (NIV)
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak… but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”

Our strength runs out. His doesn’t. When we pause to invite Him in, weakness becomes an opportunity for God to show His power.

Ask yourself:

  • Where am I trying to carry life in my own strength?
    Am I pushing through on my own, or am I stopping to let Christ      shoulder the weight with me?


  • Have I asked Christ to strengthen me in this season—or am I just trying harder?
    Am I striving more, or surrendering more? Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t in doing more, but in releasing control to Him.


  • What would it look like to face today’s challenges with His strength instead of mine?
    Would it change the way I respond to stress, approach my responsibilities, or love the people around me?


These aren’t condemnation questions, they’re invitation questions. They invite us to stop striving, to breathe, and to realign with Christ’s power working in us.

We check our phones. We check our calendars. We even check the news and social media a dozen times a day.
But when was the last time we checked our stillness before God?

A Faith Check is about realignment.
It’s about asking: Am I filling every quiet moment with noise, or am I giving God space to speak?

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

Stillness isn’t inactivity—it’s trust. When we pause, we’re reminded that God is in control, not us.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Stillness allows us to stop striving and start surrendering.

Ask yourself:

  • Do I avoid silence by filling it with distractions?
     
  • Am I afraid of being bored instead of open to God’s presence?

These aren’t guilt questions—they’re guiding questions. They help us refocus and find clarity in God’s voice, not our own noise.

Faith Check: Where’s My Heart?


Ask yourself:

  • Am I more focused on being noticed than on serving?
  • Do I find it difficult to admit when I’m wrong or to ask for help?
  • What would it look like today to put someone else’s needs above my own?

Humility is not about thinking less of yourself—it’s about thinking of yourself less, so you can see others more clearly and reflect Christ more fully.

  • Philippians 2:3–4 (NIV) “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility      value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”


  • James 4:10 (NIV) “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”


  • 1 Peter 5:6 (NIV) “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.”


These verses remind us that humility positions us for God’s favor. When we lower ourselves, He is faithful to raise us in ways that matter for eternity.

  1. Remember God’s Timing – When you feel the urge to prove yourself, pause and remind your heart: “God will lift me up in due time” (1 Peter 5:6).
  2. Celebrate Others – Take a moment each day to encourage or affirm someone else’s efforts, without seeking recognition for your own.
  3. Choose Listening First – In conversations, practice humility by slowing down, listening deeply, and valuing another’s perspective.
  4. Pray for a Gentle Spirit – Each morning, ask the Lord to help you approach the day not with pride, but with gentleness and grace.
  5. Keep Christ as the Focus – When pride creeps in, anchor yourself to the      truth that every gift and success comes from Him, not from us.
